Hello...
So I was wonderin' - what do you do with your spare time?
Spent today skiving off work (hey, I'm self-employed, so I can growl at myself!), to catch films in the local "international film festival" that started today.
Double Dare - (doco) mostly centred around the life and work of Jeannie Epper (stuntwoman who actioned "Wonder Woman") and Zoƫ Bell (stuntwoman for Xena). Really good doco, filled with Bell's enthusiasm, and Epper's recollections & current thoughts. Also features interviews with Steven Spielberg, and Quentin Tarantino (re. Bell & Kill Bill).
Touch the Sound - (doco) about the deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie, and her world of "sound". Beautifully filmed, with much care being paid to the sound pickups in a myriad of environments. Contemplative film.
And last film (for today at least!) Kung Fu Hustle, Stephen Chow's latest outing. I liked it more than Shaolin Soccer (also one of Chow's). Good bit of fun, great "landlady" ;)
